April M. Nieves is a tap dancer, acupuncturist and herbalist born and raised in Boston, MA. Growing up Puerto Rican, African-American, and Jewish gave her a variety of cultural experiences evolving her into the woman she is today. Her love for dance and medicine started when she was five years old. April continues her healing work by practicing medicine at The Sunny Side: Acupuncture and Healing Arts and tap dancing. Her two passions fuel her to educate and inspire you to a healthier version of yourself.

Take the first step towards living a healthier life through Chinese Medicine.
What is Chinese Medicine? Chinese Medical practices may include: Acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, tai chi/qi gong, meditation, Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage), and herbs. Western Medicine sees you like a car with separate parts to fix. I see you as one energetic being, where any health concern may affect your WHOLE self (mental, emotional, physical, energetic, or spiritual health). You are special. You are the only version of YOU! My treatments focus on maintaining a balanced flow of Qi throughout your body. Qi is your "vital force, or energy." It is in all living things. It cannot be measured or seen (I know some may have a problem with this, haha). Yin and Yang are the opposites of Qi that I work with. Who can benefit from it? Anyone can benefit from Chinese Medicine. Whether it is to aid in the healing of a specific condition, to maintain wellness, or disease prevention, treatments are catered to how you show up that specific day in the office. |
